This dissected look at Harakeke (NZ Flax) was inspired while walking at a local park this summer. Seeing the flax through the railings of a bridge truncated like this created that flush of excitement about looking at the world in a different way. The light summery feel of the colours in this work and the composition led to the title 'Slice of Heaven'
