Constanza Briceno

The preservation of her childhood memories constitutes the raw material from which Constanza creates her pictorial work, which is shaped through the repetition and layers of colour that fit together, revealing forms and memories of home and nature.

Constanza currently works in her studio in Papamoa, New Zealand. In the intimacy of this space, near the sea, tshe reconstructs and narrates passages from her memory, drawing upon moments, people, and places from the past that intertwine in an accumulation of layers and veils. Constanza also teaches painting; developing a methodology that unites art and life, where the intimacy of living, lived spaces, and remembered places are interwoven in her works.

Constanza's work is recognized locally and regionally. Her work has been selected for important group and solo exhibitions in galleries in New Zealand, Chile, and Argentina.
